Baby of MIne...

I love this little man so much. He makes my heart melt! I cannot believe he is turning 10 months old next week... This is a hat from Bali and it looks so adorable with him and his giraffe, Gerry...a gift from his cousins Savannah, McKinley, Will, and Alyssa the day he was born...
Here we are together. I am so blessed to have such a great little man :)

My husband took this one. I am not a fan of photos of me, but, I like this one!

My serious-faced mini man, lol. He wasn't feeling much like smiling this day but gosh he's a doll...

There is nothing like having a baby. It changed my life, for sure. I am so blessed to have this role, as a mother, as God and everyone who knows me knew how hard it was to get pregnant. I am blessed and such a believer that God has a plan for everyone. I may not have any more children but if I do, it will be another sweet blessing. Until then, I will love my little Aiden with the love I am full of and live my life to be the best mother ever.
Aiden, I love you, my sweet honey bun :)

To be 16.....

This lovely lady is turning 16!! I can remember moving into the neighborhood the same time as her family did and remember her being in middle school. OMGaw!!! Time has flown bye and now, we've got ourselves a 16 year old.

Sweet Jette is one of three daughters in this family. Joe, better fight the boys off with a STICK or bat for sure! :)
Jette, I cannot wait to shoot pics at your party!

To Pose or NOT to Pose...

I am so happy to be getting into studio photography settings. I find it to be a challenge to pose people- babies, children, families, couples, etc but feel so restricted! Its like you only get certain options for portaits and I struggle with the posing thing, honestly. I want 'natural' looking people and it is a challenge for sure to incorporate 'natural' in front of a backdrop. I find it easier to photograph babies like this as they can't do much or run off on me so fast, lol!!! Goal for baby is the right light and smiles!
I admire the high profile photographers in my hometown area who are so well trained and creative inside their studios and work so hard with making the studio setting flawless and the images they capture 'timeless'. I cannot wait to book a session with one of the wonderful photographers, Paula Goble, to get some wonderful moments of my sweet Aiden that I cannot get on my own in studio setting. Deana Johnson is another amazing baby and children's photographer who is by all means, super talented and creative. Both Paula and Deana are incredible with lighting, editing, and seem to capture the 'timeless' portraits. I know I will never be like them in the studio but hope to be just as amazing in my own aspect and with my own style.
I'm eager to work with a fellow photographer soon on a project that will be AMAZING in all aspects. When it's time to talk more, I'll spill the beans, don't worry, lol!!!! Until then? My lips are sealed.
I have been pondering on this alot lately. I like to title myself as a photojournalistic and lifestyle photographer as I by no means call myself a portrait photographer. I like working with the flow and to get on an image WHO the person is and HOW they are so special the way they are! Can't wait for warmer weather to get outdoors, capture the sun on the skin and go all out! Maybe I'll purchase a vagabond battery for my lights to have battery charged studio lighting on the go- hahah! FREEDOM for ME!!!
I do love studio photogrpahy, don't get me wrong, but I feel so restricted and want to get the 'it' moment that people come for when seeking professional photography.

Until then....I'll work on black and whites and experiment with my newest seamless colors and lighting. I'm also working on editing to create the 'flawless' look so many photographer edit their photographs to get with skin. I'm trying to be as minimal as possible, as I do not want to change a person or alter their appearance in any way. I have incredible editing software but use it only to create effects and more drama. I'm opening my options...takes more time but opening them.
As always, keep on messaging me for details and pricing! Let's get together!!!

Babies Babies and more Babies

My boy keeps growing up on me...too fast. I know, I know... Its expected. But really? Where has the time gone? He brings such joy to my life and it passes all too fast. Here's few to share of our day in front of the lens

Here are two adorable babies I got the honor of photographing. We had such fun on these days. It is nearly impossible to get time to do this, it seems, as we are all so busy. BUT, this is proof that making time, it can happen! We can get our babies and love bugs in their best element and next month? Time will move on and they will change even more! GOSH! Our babies are growing up!

Birthday Boy!!!! Look at these eyes!

Look at this beauty! She's a Valentine Sweetheart if I've ever seen one! She is such a sweet baby as well...
Lord only knows when I'll have a chance to blog again! Got questions? Message me!
Still doing the Fabulous February special!

And here is my sweet Aiden...

happy new year!!!!!!!

Seriously, I love capturing all these silly and sweet moment of my son. It's amazing how a baby can grow so quickly!
This new year, I hope for happiness, great health, love, and strength- not only for me, but for my family, friends, and anyone reading this.

I hope that I can teach my son so much this year. He will be hitting more milestones: crawling, first teeth, walking, talking (saying more than 'uh' and 'momomomomom'), and with all things going well, his first trip to Indonesia. I hope I can be the mom I am meant to be and pray each day I can be stronger, more patient, less stressed (with work, etc) and be able to focus on him and our family. I hope to have more time with my friends as I never see them anymore. It is so hard, I know, being a new mother and juggling work, family time, and trying to make it all work and it gets so mind boggling. I have so many friends who are new mothers and to see them so busy, too, makes it harder. For instance, my photog colleague and dear friend also has a baby and he was born only 3 weeks or so after my son. We live 30 miles away and I NEVER see them! Makes me sad. I know she works hard with him, the home, her studio, and is actually able to see her husband (as mine works 2nd shift) and she is worn out too. I miss her...I really do. I hope this year, 2011, our sons will be able to see each other more and that we can get together more- and with our other friends who have babies and play, take pictures, laugh, etc...things moms do now a days....
Happy 2011, everyone! From our home to yours!

(This was a quick photo session with my love bug. I got some studio gear for Christmas and was trying it all out. NOTE: I am NOT a fan of white muslin. Black? Yes...White? Absolutely not. I'm investing in seamless this week.)
